Welcome to Blue Monster Prep!
Item # EP-142
The Ambu-Stat Starter Kit w/ Fogger & Actril from Blue Monster Prep is designed to provide an affordable proactive approach to infection prevention and control for prehospital and public health spaces, utilizing an atomized cold sterilant to decontaminate surfaces that ultraviolet light cannot reach effectively.
The Ambu-Stat Fogger is designed to atomize Actril Cold Sterilant* into small droplets (fog, mist or spray) by shearing them in a highly turbulent section of the nozzle. A blower in the power head supplies air to create the turbulence. The liquid flowing into the nozzle, regulated by the fixed liquid flow rate restrictor assembly, determines average fog droplet size. The restrictor assembly shipped with this fogger was selected to generate a dry fog - small droplets that float extensively and diffuse widely. Through the use of interchangeable restrictor assemblies, of differing sizes, the flow rate can be decreased or increased. A larger flow rate (e.g., 4-8 ounces [100-250 ml] per minute) produces progressively larger droplets (wet fog, fine mist) that could be used for special decontamination circumstances.
The bio-decontamination process is relatively short, meaning there’s little downtime for the space being cleaned. A small space, such as an ambulance, can be thoroughly decontaminated with a high level of disinfection within only 40 minutes. The AMBUstat process is also safe for sensitive electronics as the micro-droplets are only in contact with the surfaces long enough to get the job done, evaporating over the course of the dwell and ventilation periods, leaving the surfaces residue-free.
To achieve a desired level of decontamination, an appropriate quantity of Actril Cold Sterilant must make contact with the targeted surfaces and that quantity of Actril Cold Sterilant must stay in contact with the targeted surfaces for specified length of time, otherwise known as 'dwell' or 'contact' time. Fogs are useful for this application, because they can deposit a very thin layer of liquid droplets, using less chemical and speeding up drying.
It is now possible to achieve a high-level disinfection of small spaces, such as an ambulance, with only 35 minutes of downtime - including the removal of all visible organic and inorganic matter, through the following series of steps:
Step 1: FoggerFollowing mechanical cleaning of all surfaces, the AMBUstat system runs for the appropriate amount of time. During this time, the device atomizes the Actril Cold Sterilant into a cold dry fog that destroys pathogens. (10 Minutes)
Step 2: Dwell PeriodThe Actril Cold Sterilant must stay in contact with the targeted surfaces for a specified length of time (approx. 15 minutes). This is known as ‘Dwell’ or ‘Contact’ time. (15 Minutes)
Step 3: VentilationThe micro droplets evaporate during the ventilation time, leaving the targeted surfaces bio-decontaminated and residue-free. (10 Minutes)
Step 4: Job CompleteFinally, the space is decontaminated and ready to go back into service.
The AMBUstat bio-decontamination program was originally designed to decontaminate prehospital care surfaces in spaces such as ambulances and gear storage rooms; however, the program is also the perfect solution for decontaminating any space where surfaceborne, airborne and bloodborne pathogens are likely to reside. These spaces include (but are not limited to) holding cells, treatment rooms, clinics, gyms, laboratories, public shower rooms, hotel rooms, classrooms, commercial kitchens, dining rooms, assisted living facilities, meeting facilities, government offices and other public and private facilities.
